Check the labels of the fruit and vegetables (if you can find a label) on the fresh produce you buy at the grocery store. Avocados and melons from Mexico might sit a bin or two down from the fruit grown in Chile. What kind of phytosanitary rules governed the production of those fruits and vegetables before being imported into the United States?
The popularity of social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook have given voices to those who previously had no voice, or at the very least were ignored as the lone voice crying in the wilderness. Moreover, social media seems to be the one bastion of media left where conservative thought and ideals can flourish.
